The democratisation of Fintech, greater diversity in it and greater collaboration between FS and tech resulting in enabling and/or disrupting cutting-edge products and services to be used in, for example, ESG.

Best thing about interning at Anthemis?

As a lawyer in the making — experiencing what it’s like to work in house, as part of a lean team of lawyers with a can-do attitude that work across all teams of the business to support on a variety of matters. Also, experiencing the rise of legal tech and realising its potential for the future of the profession. As someone with a keen interest in entrepreneurship — learning about VC ‘from the inside’ (i.e. the fund’s/ investor’s perspective), negotiating term sheets, navigating and considering fund structures, liaising with founders as well as LPs.

Fintech has the power to have a positive impact on the world. It enables continuous change (e.g., providing new financial service models for healthcare & femtech, or innovative financing for creatives/SMEs). It levels the playing field by creating opportunities for underbanked populations, and it educates and engages younger generations through the creation of innovative new products and services.
